  1. Welch ein Klassiker! Die meisten meiner Freunde lieben die Kichererbsen darin, aber weiße Bohnen oder sogar Kartoffelwürfel sind ein guter Ersatz. Möbeln Sie ganz nach Gusto das Gericht mit noch mehr Chili auf. Die hier angegebenen Zutaten reichen für sechs Personen, Sie können den Rest also einfach einfrieren, wenn Sie nur für vier kochen – aber es schmeckt auch am nächsten Tag noch richtig gut, sogar auf Pellkartoffeln!
  2. Zwiebeln, Knoblauch, Möhren und Sellerie schälen und fein würfeln (egal wie, hacken Sie einfach drauflos, bis sie ganz klein sind). Die Paprikaschoten halbieren, Samen und Trennwände entfernen und die Paprikahälften grob würfeln. Stellen Sie Ihre größte Kasserolle bei mittlerer Hitze auf den Herd. 2 Schuss Olivenöl und das gesamte zerkleinerte Gemüse hineingeben. Mit dem Cayennepfeffer, dem Kreuzkümmel, dem Zimt und je 1 kräftigen Prise Salz und Pfeffer würzen. Das Gemüse etwa 7 Minuten braten, dabei alle 30 Sekunden umrühren, bis es weich ist und etwas Farbe angenommen hat. Kichererbsen, Kidneybohnen und die Tomaten aus der Dose hinzufügen. Das Hackfleisch dazugeben und gegebenenfalls mit einem Holzlöffel zerteilen. Eine der leeren Tomatendosen mit Wasser füllen und das Wasser in die Kasserolle gießen. Die Korianderblätter abzupfen und in den Kühlschrank legen. Die Stiele waschen, trocken schütteln und fein hacken, dann unter das Chili rühren. Den Balsamico-Essig und je 1 kräftige Prise Salz und Pfeffer zufügen. Alles aufkochen lassen, anschließend die Temperatur herunterschalten, den Deckel schräg auflegen und das Chili 1 Stunde köcheln lassen, dabei gelegentlich umrühren, damit nichts ansetzt
  3. Lockerer Reis schmeckt fantastisch dazu. Geben Sie einfach den Reis und das Chili in einzelne tiefe Teller oder Sie stellen alles mitten auf den Tisch und lassen jeden selbst nehmen. Falls Sie kein Fan von Reis sind, passen auch ein ordentliches Stück frisches, knuspriges Brot, Pellkartoffeln oder Couscous dazu. Die Korianderblätter über das Chili streuen, den Joghurt und die Guacamole jeweils in einer kleinen Schüssel anrichten und alles zusammen mit ein paar Limettenspalten servieren. Ein schöner grüner Salat macht die ganze Sache.
