I hope you enjoy reading this blog post.

If you want to find hands-on US Clinical Experience, click here

Getting a United States Clinical Experience (USCE) is a major part of applying for the residency match in the USA. Many students and graduates start searching for USCEs when reaching their final year of medical school. It is a great opportunity to showcase your abilities and a good learning experience to know about US healthcare.

If you are still a medical student, you can participate in electives, which are hands-on clinical experiences in a US hospital where you get to do the tasks/responsibilities that a U.S. medical student does in their final year of medical school.

In this blog, we will explore elective programs that have affiliations with certain international medical schools. If your school is on this list, you can directly apply for electives within these programs.

If your school is not on this list, it doesn’t mean you can’t secure electives; it simply means it’s unlikely you can participate in these specific programs. We have another blog detailing which programs offer electives (even without prior affiliations), their requirements, and how to apply, which can be found here.

We will continue to update this list regularly. However, please be aware that affiliations can change over time, so we recommend checking the program’s website to confirm if your school is still affiliated with the program you’re interested in.

Can I apply for electives if I already graduated from the below-mentioned school?

Unfortunately not. Electives are for people who are still medical students when applying. Even if you were in a school mentioned below, being a graduate will disqualify you from applying.

Check the list of our experienced doctors offering USCE to IMGs!

Check now!

What if my medical school is not listed below, can I still apply?

It is hard to say if the elective programs below will accept students from other schools. If you are still a student, you can reach out to the institutions mentioned below by email and see if they accept international students outside these affiliations. We have another blog detailing which programs offer electives (even without prior affiliations), their requirements, and how to apply, which can be found here.

What is the difference between this list and the list of electives we have on our other blog?

This list outlines elective programs specifically for international students from schools with which they have established affiliations. Our other blog, which you can explore here, details elective programs open to applicants regardless of whether their schools have formal affiliations with U.S. institutions.

Who should I contact in my medical school if my school is mentioned below and I want to apply?

You can start by asking your seniors. If that doesn’t work, try searching for the person responsible for student affairs. Another good place to try is the Dean or their secretary, who might guide you to the person to contact.

What year should I be in to apply for electives?

You generally should be in your final year of medical school.

When is the best time to apply for electives?

Each institution has a different timeline for applying for electives. For the details regarding when to apply, check our other blog with the requirements for each program here.

And now, let’s start with the list 📋 of the hospitals:
