Y’all, I don’t bake. And when I do, it doesn’t always turn out so well. (And when it does turn out well, I’m so excited about it that I usually blog it.)

I’m not a huge fan of sweets either. I enjoy areallygood desert, but it has to be, like, “♫ heaven, I’m in heaven ♫” kind of good to be worth it to me.

And, since this has already turned into a blog post of confessions that would make Pinterest turn on it’s patent red heals and run in the opposite direction, I have one more confession to make. I realize I may lose some readers over this one. Well, here I go anyway:

“My name is Amy, and I do not like S’mores.”

There, I’ve said it. Now, for those of you who decided to stick around after my shocking announcement (I know!! Who doesn’t love S’mores, right?…I am a black sheep) it is with total shock and awe that I tell you that I (yes, me! The one who doesn’t bake!!) made the most amazing tasting dessert the other night!

I could almost hear Fred Astaire singing in my ear as I savored my sweet treat. ♫ Heaven I’m in Heaven ♫

Now, I have one last confession to make…This killer dessert I made was…S‘mores!

Wait, what?!!

(Don’t look at that GIF for too long… 😛 )

Contrary to popular belief there is more than one way to make S’mores. S’mores in the oven, on the grill, on the stove top. This mind-blowing discovery led me to the absolutely amazing 4th of July S’mores Pie recipe I’m about to share with you.

There are lots of S’mores Pie recipes out there on the internet, but if you read my blog post earlier this week, then you know that we are in the throes of packing for a cross-country move. I don’t have much time on my hands these days. Most S’mores Pie recipes call for extensive prepping and baking, custard fillings. I just have time for that. And, come the 4th of July, who does? Our days should be spent outdoors having fun with our families–watching parades and fireworks–not stuck in the kitchen baking.

Being a blogger usually means I get to make all my holiday goodies in advance. My kids LOVE this. LOL. The boys have been so patient with all the packing and have worked so hard doing anything I asked, keeping the house clean, running little errands here and there, that I thought it would be niceto relax, have a little family time, and enjoy a delicious treat.

We stopped by Walmart on Monday to pick up some last minute groceries and get some food that we can prep without pots, pans, dishes…oy! (We’re going to be living in our house for 6 days after the movers haul everything away, eek!) Hello microwave meals!

My kids made sure I didn’t forget about their promised treat so we picked up someS’mores essentials because any day can be a S’mores day! Am I right?! I snapped some pictures of where you can find all the ingredients because nobody wants to be running back and forth across the store looking for an elusive item, especially when you have kids with you.

(I forgot to snap the aisle pic of the Hershey’s Syrup. It is on the same aisle as the peanut butter, jelly, and all the condiments.)

So, I told you that this Fourth of July S’mores Pie Recipe was really easy.Cook time is a grand total of 10 minutes! Assembly is done in a snap, especially if you have eager little hands helping you.

Ingredients

    Crust

  • 2 cups crushed Honey Maid graham crackers
  • 1/3 cup sugar (the rest of the ingredients are so sweet you could probably leave the sugar out if you wanted)
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Filling

  • 4 Hershey's Chocolate Bars
  • approx 1/3 cup Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Syrup (drizzled)
  • Small Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows (use as many as you need to sufficiently cover your chocolates)
  • fresh blueberries
  • approximately 5 fresh strawberries sliced

Instructions

    Crust

  • Crush approximately 3 packages of graham cracker SQUARES (these are the square graham crackers, not the long rectangular ones. If using rectangular graham crackers, adjust the number accordingly)
  • Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter or margarine, and cinnamon until well blended . Press mixture into an 8 or 9 inch pie plate.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 5 minutes. Cooling the crust is optional.

  • Bake in the oven at 375 for 3 minutes (you want the marshmallows to be puffy, but not brown on top yet.)

  • Return to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes.

Oh So Savvy Mom

Heavenly 4th of July S'mores Pie Recipe #LetsMakeSmores - Oh So Savvy Mom (11)

The fresh fruit on this 4th of July S’mores Pie adds such a decadent, fruity twist to the traditional s’mores. Next time, I’d probably even go so far as to put fresh blueberriesin the filling! Delicious! I’m so excited for you all to try this!

If you have leftovers, you can refrigerate for one day (probably best not to keep it for longer)and reheat in the oven the next day at 375° for about 6 minutes.
